DOMINANT-STATE THINKING AND STATE-DEPENDENT PREFERENCES
http://ir.ncue.edu.tw/ir/handle/987654321/19969
title: DOMINANT-STATE THINKING AND STATE-DEPENDENT PREFERENCES abstract: In this study, dominant-state thinking was represented in the form of a dominant state or a dominant event as an individual may perceive, and issues related to state-dependent preferences with dominant-state thinking were addressed accordingly. With a dominant state or a dominant event existing in the partial information possessed by an individual, the axion of continuity, indispensable to the establishment of the expected-utility maximization theorem, may not hold in the presence of discontinuity in the individual`s state-dependent preferences with dominant-state thinking. As presented in the study, the representations of the dominant states and the states contained in the dominant events as null states may tackle not merely the problem of discontinuity in an individual`s state-dependent preferences with dominant-state thinking, but also the necessity of extremely high utility levels associated with a dominant state or a state contained in a dominant event. However, to present more appropriate representations of state-depentend preferences with dominant-state thinking within various contexts , research attention may be directed as well to issues related to the posterior state-depentend preferences of an individual and his further choice in the culmination of a dominated event, given his choice made under his prior state-depentend preferences with dominant-state thinking.
<br>THINKING AND CONCEPTS: VYGOTSKY`S THEORY OF CHILD CONCEPT FORMATION

title: THINKING AND CONCEPTS: VYGOTSKY`S THEORY OF CHILD CONCEPT FORMATION abstract: Children`s thinking and concept formation would contribute to their creativity and capacity for problem solving. In this article, Vygotsky`s theory of children`s concept formation was discussed with respect to children`s formation of synthetic images and thinking in complexes on their way toward to the formation of potential concepts and real concepts. Educators of young children may provide young children with developmentally appropriate services and activities such as play and drawing, which may be arranged in such a way that children`s formation of thinking and concepts may be enhanced through the use of languages and other symbol systems not merely on their own, but under adult guidance or in collaboration with more capable peers as well.

http://ir.ncue.edu.tw/ir/handle/987654321/19248
title: PROSPECT THEORY AND DECISION WEIGHTS abstract: Proposed by Kahneman and Tversky as an alternative model for analyzing choice under risk and uncertainty, prospect theory is characterized by a value function and a probability-weighting function which overweights small probabilities but underweights high and moderate probabilities. Since the probability-weighting function plays a crucial role in prospect theory and its applicability in various areas, the paper analyzes the correspondence between the probability-weighting function and the probability function embedded in choice under risk and uncertainty, and the properties of low-probabilities overweighting and subcertainty associated with the correspondence.
