Abstract:	To significantly decrease the amount of information while still preserving the contour shape, chain coding is widely applied to digital images analysis, especially to those raster-shaped ones. In this paper, chain coding is integrated with the Single-side Grown Huffman Table (SGHT) to improve the data compression rate.
