Abstract: Electromagnetic wave coupling through holes has important applications in waveguide and cavity designs. The shielding effectiveness of a bent slot is analyzed by calculating the transmission cross section of a TE incident plane wave. The effects of slot geometry, filling permittivity and conductivity are studied. The solution procedure based on the equivalence principle and method of moments are derived. Results on transmission cross section are also presented
