摘要: The purpose of this paper is to report the content and status of the aviation power electronics education in Taiwan. Electric power is used in almost every part or sub-system of modern aerospace system. The object of aviation power electronics is to utilize and improve the quality of electric power for aircraft. Generation, conversion, inversion, transmission, distribution and utilization of electric power take place at different powers, voltages, currents and frequencies to serve the available system involved. Therefore, the power electronics technology is the core sub-system in any electric power process system in an aircraft. To develop qualified and skillful technician manpower in Taiwan, the ministries of education and economy support a project to the aeronautical engineering department of the National Huwei Institute of Technology (NHIT) for establishing an aviation power electronics education curriculum. Three doctors major in power electronics engineering, seven doctors major in aerospace engineering, two doctors major in radar engineering and a doctor major in satellite engineering join this project. At the same time, international cooperation is also processed to obtain the most updated information and technologies about aircraft maintenance and avionics for reforming and enhancing the education program.
