Abstract: This research applies the digital filter design theory to build a practical filter model by software. The theory applied is IIR butterworth low-pass design theory. All of the design apply MATLAB simulink tool box and associated libraries. The part which models the filter uses
Direct Form I realization to implement. This design also utilizes FRB (fuzzy rule base) to determine what order of the filter should be used for desired passband shape. On the other words, this research is an implementation of digital filter design, fuzzy control design, and simulink
design. The design flow contains two major parts. The first part is fuzzy controller design. The second part is filter design modeling. The designed filters will be also simulated by inputting appropriate signal to illustrate the functions.
