The Association of National Salvation, established in Shanghai in the middle of 1930 was a national group against the Japanese with a foundation of the general public. There were seven noblemen called ”Seven Gentlemen” , including Shen Jun-ru, Zou Tao-fen, Chang Nai-chi, Sha Chien-li, Wang Zao-shi, Li Kung-pu and Shi Liang who were the most important founders and leaders of the Association. A historical observation of the backgrounds of these seven people before they founded the Association will be made in this article. In addition to the motivation of a national crisis, an external factor brought by Japanese invasion, it is expected to search for a potential internal factor to the establishment of the Association of National Salvation through family and educational backgrounds, experiences, occupations, activities and thoughts of these seven leaders. It will help us to have a better understanding of the activities, attitude and inclinations of the Association of National Salvation.
