Title: Dependence of the Cladding Thickness on the Optical Properties for the High Power AlGaInP Laser Diodes

Abstract: 本文主要研究披覆層(cladding layer)厚度對高功率AlGaInP雷射二極體(LD)的輸出功率之影響,探討披覆層厚度與臨界電流和發光效率的關係及造成的原因,我們使用lastip軟體並且考慮thermal modal來研究,理論分析發現較厚的披覆層有較佳的發光效率;但披覆層過厚將不利於導熱,並同時以實驗方式來量測COD (catastrophic optical damage)power level與披覆層厚度的關係,發現最佳化的披覆層厚度約在1.7 um左右。
