Abstract: In Taiwan, utilizing information technology (IT) in elementary science teaching is specially addressed in the new Grade 1-9 Curriculum Guidelines. It is important to understand elementary teachers' degree of satisfaction with school IT equipments, their willingness to integrate IT into science teaching, and if teachers take active measures when they encounter IT difficulties. Another purpose of this study is to understand the relationships among teachers' satisfaction, willingness and measures taken in using IT. A total of 448 elementary science teachers from central Taiwan completed the Satisfaction of Information Technology Survey. Results indicated overall satisfaction towards school IT equipment, and teachers were willing to incorporate IT into their classroom teaching. The degree of satisfaction of IT and willingness to use IT was correlated with measures taken when teachers encounter IT difficulties, and the results and implications are discussed.
