The investigation of freshwater algae in Bai-Sha Lake. NCUE, ChangHua, give the information that it contains 102 species, belonging to 48 genera, 23 families and 5 divisons. Among them, 7 species were the first time record for the algal flora of Taiwan, including Gloeocapsa kutzingiana Ngeli,Scenedsesmus arcuatus (Lemmermann) Lemmermann, Geminella pulachra (Skuja) Ramanathan, Cosmarium deparessum (Naegeli) Lundell var. planctonicum Reverdin, Cosmarium tinctum Rabenhorst, Thalassiosira wiessflogii (Grunow) Fryxell et Hasle, hacus pyrum (Ehrenberg) Stein. In this study we found some freshwater algae that it contains Euglenaceae, Aulacoseira, Nitzschia, Scenedesmus and Pediastrum commonly observed in eutrophic water.
