We can easily find that the sources for the picture books are obtained from the diverse sources. It is never too exaggerating to say the sources may come from the east and west in all history. The readers may get involved in a variety of subject matters, from which to gain diverse learning experiences. In addition to the conventional contents-warmth, happiness, and merriment, the picture books for children also explore the "serious" themes, such as death, illness, aging, disaster, war, and family. The present text centers on the theme-"death"-to explore the style presentations of pictures and texts. The two illustrated children storybooks are "Christian" and "Happy Birthday to You". The main points of the text are four-folded-1. representing the theme; 2. the story development; 3.the character sketch; 4. displaying the graphics in an attempt to provide a new dimension in the selection of the children storybooks and on the subject of life education for the child.
