Abstract: The European standard for digital video broadcasting over terrestrial (DVB-T) has been adopted by many countries already. In order to provide more and better services in the future, the bluebook for the second generation digital terrestrial television broadcasting system (DVB-T2) has been established in 2008. In this paper, we follow the bluebook and implementation guideline of DVB-T2 to introduce the system structures and the channel models individually. Finally, the performance simulation results of DVB-T2 system over different channel models are presented. In addition, the performance comparison between DVB-T2 and DVB-T systems are shown.
