Abstract: In this paper, we propose a Dynamic Extended Fi-nite State Machine (DEFSM) to achieve software modeling of interactive multimedia present at
ions . Using the DEFSM- based approach, each medium's behavior ,i.e. , intra-mediums ynchronization, is specified in an Act or DEFSM; inter-media's relationship, i.e. , inter media synchronization, is specified in a Synchronizer DEFSM. In order to re- synchronize media displaying when present at ions are resumed, some control schemes are adopted during the processing of each user inter -action.
