Abstract: This paper describes an experimental study concerning with the comparison of three multiple-channel active vibration control (AVC) techniques for gear-set shaft with digital signal processor (DSP) implementation. Although conventional passive vibration control techniques achieved part of vibration cancellation. However, the parameter of passive system is usual fixed and the performance is limited in some special frequency range. In a practical application, the gear-set shaft of transmission system is operating in variable conditions. This paper proposes an adaptive hybrid active vibration controller for reducing transmission gear-set shaft vibration. The hybrid control algorithm is a combination of feedforward structure using filter-x least mean square (FXLMS) algorithm and feedback structure with linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) theory. A frequency domain technique is used for achieving the control plant identification and controller design. The experimental works are carried out to evaluate the vibration attenuation performance of proposed techniques in transmission gear-set shaft.
