Title: A Low-Power Dependable Berger Code for Fully Asymmetric Communication

Abstract: Berger and bus-invert codes are well-known coding schemes respectively for error correction and low-power bus coding. This paper proposed an improved Berger codes by conditional inverting for reducing error risk and signal transitions. A totally self-checking encoder and checker pair is also developed with little area overhead for the proposed Berger Invert codes. In the extension and discussion, the novel inverting scheme can be also compatible with the bus-invert codes for advanced applications. From analyses and experiments, proposed Berger Invert codes can improve 12-21% of error rates and 25% of information power.
