The Content Analysis of Global Perspective Education In Social Study In Junior High School

The goal of this research is to analyze the content of global perspective education of junior high school social textbooks, to understand the content and the display of the amount.
In this research, content analysis is adopted. The first step is to refer to the relevant literature review and to consult the experts for the purpose of building up the analysis items of this research. The analysis items are further used to analyze the pictures and the readings of social textbooks inn junior high school. There are two parts of the analysis process. The first part is the analysis of the amount of relevant contents, presenting the quantitative analysis according to the items. The statistical method adopted in the study aims to obtain times, percentage, and the differences shown by the test of Chi-square in terms of the amount of global education and localized education in total textbooks, among three versions and among six books of the same version. The second part is the qualitative analysis of the content, depicting the content features of the three versions.
The conclusion of this study is listed as follows
1. Regarding the social textbooks,the teaching materials of global perspective education include:Global history and geography, the global systems, the global issues and problems, the understanding of different cultures.
2. In comparison with various kinds of versions, Kang Hsuan version has the most materials of the global perspective education.
3. The global system is most frequently seen among global perspective education of the versions, the understanding of different cultures are least seen.
4. In the global perspective education of the versions. We find out the global geography was presented more than any other in the sub-category.
5. Global perspective education of the versions focuses on global geography, global history, economical systems and political systems.
6. In the rate of the global perspective education, Book Ⅱ was most frequently seen.
In conclusion, according to the findings listed above, a few related suggestions are made for further research.
