本研究以英語科為例,旨在探討彰化縣國中學生外語學習動機、外語學習策略之間的關係,及其外語學習動機、外語學習策略是否因性別、學習經驗、家庭社經地位不同而有顯著差異。採用問卷調查593位彰化縣國二學生,採用描述性統計、獨立樣本t 檢定、單因子變異數分析與皮爾森積差相關等方法進行分析。獲得結論如下:首先,彰化縣國中學生表現出「中高程度」的英語學習動機;在英語學習策略的使用頻率不高,惟有「情意策略」的使用情形展現出「中高程度」。其次,男、女生在英語學習動機、英語學習策略上大多具有顯著差異,女生高於男生。再者,英語學習經驗在英語學習動機與英語學習策略上具有顯著差異,學習經驗多年之國中學生之得分顯著高於學習三年的學生。此外,不同家庭社經地位之國中學生在英語學習動機與英語學習策略上具有顯著差異,高社經地位家庭之國中學生皆高於低社經地位家庭之國中學生。最後,英語學習動機與英語學習策略具有顯著正相關。本研究最後根據研究發現提出具體建議,以供家長、教師及學習者與未來研究者之參考。

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between 593 junior high school eighth-graders’ foreign language learning motivation and foreign learning strategies in Changhua Country, and taking English as an example. Utilizing survey questionnaire, descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation were used to analyze data. The results were summarized as the following: first, students’ English learning motivation was above average level and English learning strategies were below average level. Next, girls’ English learning motivation and learning strategies were significant higher than boys. Moreover, students’ English learning motivation and learning strategies had significant differences in English learning experience. In addition, students with high socioeconomic status had significant differences in English learning motivation and learning strategies than students with low socioeconomic status. Finally, there was significant correlation between English motivation and English strategies. The findings were discussed and suggestions were provided to parents, teachers, students, and further researchers.
