Abstract: In the 21st century, inclusive education has become a main educational system in Taiwan for children with disabilities. As many East Asian countries have noticed, understanding the background and administration of inclusive education is indispensable for grasping its future direction. The present article summarizes the developement of inclusive education and describes its impacts on the number of children with disabilities receiving schooling in special and regular schools in Taiwan.
