The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of game beginning to game result in 11-point against 21 point in table tennis competition.
The top 50 players in the world list are the objects of this study, include World Cup 2001 with 21 point, World cup 2003 and ASIA Cup 2003 with 11-point. 122 game sets in 21-point and 124 game sets in 11-point were recorded to analyze the influence of the game beginning to the win-ratio.
The result of this research shows that the more advance in game beginning, the higher win-ratio in game result. When the advance of game beginning in 21-point reaches to 25%, the win-ratio reaches to 100%. However for 11-point, the win ratio can only reach to 75%. Analysis in this thesis comes out the conclusion that higher uncertainty is found as well as higher player psychology is required in 11-point Competition.
