Meditation is an important method to modify one's behavior and mind since the ancient times in China. It is highly appreciated by most of the Confucian since Song and Ming dynasties. Among them, Pan-Long Gao is one of the few people that could elucidate the meditating methods accurately and share his experience delicately.Gao constantly practiced in meditation and received great benefit from it. The meditating effect he advocated includes having a tranquil mind, dancing coherently with what you read and understanding your character. In this study, we summaried the meditating methods suggested by Gao, e.g. practicing in common life, concentration, reviewing what the saint ever said and regulating your mental status without any disturbance under everyday activity. The purpose of this essay is to present the meditating methods that Gao frequently used and to provide a pathway to learn meditation.
