Abstract: 本研究旨在探討班級英語閱讀教學之潛在課程。以一個學校班級為研究對象,採個案研究法,運用訪談、觀察、問卷及文件分析等方式進行資料蒐集與彙整。
研究發現如下:(一)閱讀文本之潛在課程方面,插圖豐富的文本、文本內容的選擇、以及搭配多媒體輔助教材,會提升學生學習的動機與興趣。(二)師生互動關係之潛在課程方面,教室的主控權交還給學生,尊重每一個學生的文化差異與獨特性、多給予學生獨自閱讀的時間並不吝給予學生讚美與鼓勵,讓學生充份感受到被重視,並學會以同樣模式與老師互動。(三)學生同儕互動關係之潛在課程方面,進行小組合作教學,有助於學生同儕間的互助學習,經由「人際溝通」的技巧以及「傾聽與表達」的能力學習,有助於養成自我管理以及彼此合作的能力。(四)學習結果之潛在課程方面,教師專業的教學與觸類旁通的指引、內容有趣的文本、搭配美麗圖畫的文本、以小組學習方式學習以及多媒體輔助教材搭配教學,不僅會使學生產生不同的閱讀態度,也會影響學生的學習成效。
本研究最後根據研究結果提出建議,供教育相關單位及後續研究之參考。
The purpose of this study aims to explore the hidden curriculum on English reading instruction. Accordingly, one class was chosen for the case study. The data collected from interview, observation, questionnaires, and document analysis. The major findings of this study were listed as follows:
1.Choosing the proper picture books as teaching materials is necessary. It builds students’ positive attitudes toward English learning, and promote their interest in reading.
2.EFL teachers can build up a supportive learning atmosphere while English reading teaching to help their students raise self-esteem and self-confidence of English learning.
3.Cooperative Learning can help learners work together to achieve the same goal. Students establish the confraternity and consensus with their peer, concern with each other and learn how to manage themselves in the cooperative learning environment.
4.EFL teachers can also select appropriate picture books with audio aids which help students’ learning. Using different ways on English reading teaching can enhance students’ achievements.
Based on the findings, the researcher proposes suggestions for school administrators, and future researchers by this case study of the hidden curriculum of Eglish reading instruction.
